Three Velir music acts. One great cause.

In 2010 Velir started a great tradition — sponsoring a night of music to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and all the great work they do. Last year's show saw Electric Mummy play to a full crowd at Church. This year we have three Velir music groups performing for this great cause:

Hex Map

Hex Map performing live at Charlie's Kitchen

Project Manager Mike Gintz is a member of Hex Map, a "loud rock" band whose most recent record was called "counterintuitively accessible and magically schizoid" by the Boston Phoenix. No one knows quite what genre to put Hex Map in, as "apocalyptic industrial goth" doesn't yet have an aisle in Newbury Comics.

making the noise

Adam using a multitouch synthesizer

Director of Systems Analysis Adam Ribaudo is making the noise — a one-man cerebral electronic music experience. Adam uses custom-made software and electronic hardware to produce a live mashup that ebbs and flows through various soundscapes and moods. No one of his performances are the same, and needs to be experienced live for its full effect.

Electric Mummy

The Electric Mummies on-stage

Principal Developer Daniel Delay is also known as Dead Man Rocking of Electric Mummy. The Mummies are returning to the stage to deliver their unique brand of mummy-themed rock, and perform the time-honored Mummification Ritual. Filthy Dead (vocals), Dead Beat (drums), Dead Man Rocking (lead guitar), and Dead Body (vocals) are joined by their new bassist, Brain Dead, and promise to rock you right out of your mummified state.
