Seminars
and Workshops
In addition to speaking to non-technical audiences
about how they can create or redesign their own web sites, we are
available to speak on topics geared towards a variety of audiences,
such as: What to Expect When Hiring Web Developers; Creating
Web Sites for Non-Profits; How to Bring Your Data to the
Web; and Technical Considerations in Creating Interactive
Online Databases.
Last year Velir was invited to speak
at the annual KIDS COUNT Grantee Conference. Their seminar "Top
Ten Truths About Web Development" was
targeted at providing practical, useful information to small
non-profits interested in creating or redesigning their web sites.
Velir provided conference attendees (many of whom had
a non-technical background) with the necessary tools to get them
started. To help answer more specific questions, they also worked
one-on-one with organizations in thirty-minute round-robin sessions
held throughout the conference.
Both formats proved to be a great success...of
the attendees who submitted evaluations, 93% rated the seminar "very
useful" or "extremely useful". Comments included:
"Well
designed presentation w/useful suggestions. Presenters
well informed and info presented in an audience-friendly
manner."
"Excellent.
Want more and more time. This would be very costly
on an individual basis. Terrific and so relevant."
"Many
of the points were applicable to our work. Also, the
presentation was clear and well thought out."
"Best
session of the conference."
Mark notes, "Our
experiences with our non-profit clients have been exceptionally
positive. Their eagerness and efforts on behalf of their own
clients are impressive, and it's especially rewarding to know
Velir can help contribute to their success by giving them the
information they need to create effective web sites for their
audiences."
