Overview

California Healthline and iHealthBeat.org are produced by The California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF), an independent philanthropy committed to improving the way healthcare is delivered and financed in California.  The sites are targeted at two important demographics:  California Healthline is designed to meet the information needs of healthcare professionals and decision makers; iHealthBeat.org focuses on technology and its impact on healthcare. 

As part of its ongoing relationship with Velir, CHCF called on us to enhance these sites — making them faster, better, and more usable.  A key element of the project was ensuring that the sites could reliably meet deadlines to spawn mass mailings of daily news summaries.  To meet CHCF’s needs, we worked against a very aggressive timeline to rewrite the sites’ underlying application and strengthen the infrastructure. 

Today, the sites provide fresh, in-depth content in a timely fashion, giving key constituents easy access to important information and keeping them in tune with the latest innovations in healthcare.  CHCF is now able to hit its deadlines every time, freeing up the sites’ staffers to focus on content, not technical difficulties.  In addition, the new sites are built for scalability — making it easy to add features and enhancements in the future.
