Global Health Reporting
Overview
When it needed a resource-rich site that could be easily updated by internal staff, The Kaiser Family Foundation turned to Velir. Together, we created GlobalHealthReporting.org.
GlobalHealthReporting.org helps journalists, researchers, policymakers, and NGOs efficiently sort through the latest and most accurate information on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. The site provides news summaries; statistics; reporting resources such as a video library of rights-free cover footage; media contact lists; reference materials; educational, training and grant opportunities; country-focus pages with in-depth information and resources about the three diseases; and a calendar of upcoming events and training opportunities.
Velir developed the site using Ektron, a content management system that allows non-technical administrators to update content throughout the site on a daily basis. As a result, Kaiser is able to keep its users around the world up-to-date on the critical issues that shape their coverage, reports, and policies.

“It’s great to have a job where you’re ‘giving back.’ On this project, my time and effort are indirectly helping a very important cause. I’ve certainly had jobs where that has not been the case. I’m willing to go the extra mile because I believe in the work that I do.”
