Velir, a Boston-based digital agency, is excited to announce that it has hired Brandon Miller to oversee its Creative practice.  He will lead Velir’s team of visual designers in the creative direction, branding, and design of the agency’s digital solutions, and will report directly to Chief Strategy Officer, Mike Dolan.

Brandon brings over 15 years of experience, including a 5-year run with Tank Design in Cambridge. He has worked on renowned brands including FedEx, Symantec, General Motors, Monster.com and Ally Bank. With a focus on the relationship between design and technology, Brandon strives to create designs that straddle the fine line between form/function and user/content.

"There are tremendous efficiencies to be gained when the institutional knowledge that is built up during the creative process can be kept in-house, rather than handed-off to an outside firm. I am thrilled to join this dynamic and innovative team and hope to add new perspective as Velir completes its journey to evolve from an engineering shop into a fully integrated digital agency. I look forward to helping elevate Velir’s stellar service offerings to serve our clients even more holistically."

Brandon Miller, Creative Director

Velir has deep experience in dealing with the complexities involved with providing an integrated digital offering. Their capabilities on the marketing technology side are recognized as the best in the industry, stemming from a 16-year focus on web engineering and application development. They are widely recognized as a leading Sitecore, Adobe, and Drupal partner, known for handling the most complex integrations and large scale builds for brands including Bayer, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, AARP, and Informa.

"We’re seeing clients demand more from their agencies. They’re looking for fully integrated services that will cover strategy, design, and marketing technology enablement. Brands used to employ a stable of agencies for specialized aspects of digital. They’re now realizing the time and cost inefficiencies that result from that model. What we’ve done over the years is focus on refining our processes to deliver a seamless experience across all stages of a project. The addition of a Creative Director completes our 5-year plan to form an integrated digital agency capable of serving enterprise needs on all fronts."

The evolution of marketing technology has disrupted the traditional agency model. Today’s marketers need partners who can not only help them employ the new technology, but also transform the way they engage with their audiences. This requires that creatives and strategists work in tandem with technologists to ensure all dimensions are accounted for throughout execution.

Velir is best-known for its digital work for the world’s largest and most influential non-profit organizations, membership associations, and Fortune 500 companies.  The agency was recently selected as the “Small Business of the Year” by both the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Somerville Chamber of Commerce, and has offices in Boston and Washington DC.
