Velir announces the formation of a new Strategy division that will integrate design, user experience, analytics, and digital marketing technology under one umbrella.

For over 15 years Velir has been known for its venerable web development and system implementation and integration services that revolve around the top three web content management (WCM) systems: Sitecore, Adobe, and Drupal. As these marketing technologies continue to evolve, so does Velir. The combination of bulletproof development with a dedicated focus on creative and strategic vision solidify Velir’s position as the go-to partner for content-rich organizations.

Velir (www.velir.com) a Boston-based digital agency, specializes in designing and implementing websites built on WCM platforms that integrate with the plethora of point solutions required by today’s savvy digital marketers. Velir’s new Strategy division represents the holistic digital enablement services that the firm believes are critical to the success of their clients. The new division will combine Strategy, Design, Analytics, and Marketing Technology into an integrated model, designed to help content-rich organizations maximize the return on their digital marketing investments.

"Organizations in need of marketing technologies quickly realize that it’s a complex and diverse landscape that necessitates specialized, outside expertise. This is what has fueled agencies like ours for the last decade or more. Our new Strategy division and introduction of the Chief Strategy Officer role reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring our clients’ success with their digital programs."

— Dave Valliere, CEO

The new organization will be led by Mike Dolan, Velir’s newly appointed and first-ever Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Dolan was previously the head of Business Development and Marketing at Velir, where he played a pivotal role in the firm's growth over the last three years. His passion for design and marketing combined with his background in business strategy and technology make him an ideal candidate for CSO.

"As the digital marketing industry continues to mature, companies are now realizing that technology alone is not the answer. Companies have invested millions of dollars into technology and many are realizing that achieving digital maturity is a far more complex problem to solve. We see a tremendous opportunity to go beyond the technology to help organizations truly transform the way they approach digital as their primary medium for engaging with their audience. We are breaking down the silos between data, design, and technology to help our clients adapt and thrive in the new digital paradigm."

  — Mike Dolan, CSO

In addition to the CSO appointment, Velir also added agency veteran Brendon Buckley as the new Vice President of Digital Enablement. Buckley joins Velir with extensive experience in leading digital engagements for brands including Boston Beer, Fidelity, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), MassMutual, and Bentley Systems. Buckley will oversee Velir’s Solution Architecture group led by Kimiko Vecchione and the Analytics team led by Danielle Wooding.

Buckley will be joined in the new Strategy division by Velir’s VP of Experience Design, Mike Gintz. Gintz will continue to oversee Velir’s award-winning design and user experience team.

Velir is best-known for its digital work for the world’s largest and most influential non-profit organizations, membership associations, and Fortune 500 companies. Their portfolio includes respected brands such as Bayer, AARP, and the Advisory Board Company. The agency was recently selected as the “Small Business of the Year” by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and has offices in Boston and Washington DC.
