Agency Earns Specializations for Mobile, Social and Customer Engagement Platform Development

Sitecore (www.sitecore.net), a leading web content management and customer experience management software company, has announced the 2013 Sitecore Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs). Among the forty-two MVPs selected out of a field of thousands were Tim Braga and Dan Solovay from leading Sitecore partner, Velir (www.velir.com). Braga and Solovay become the fourth and fifth developers at Velir to receive the honor, which is a remarkable achievement that reflects the agency’s reputation for thought leadership and innovation in the Sitecore community. The Sitecore MVP Award celebrates the most active Sitecore community members from around the world who provide invaluable contributions by solving problems and discovering new ways to transform technology.

"We are extremely proud of Tim and Dan for their accomplishments. They exemplify Velir’s commitment to elevating the Sitecore community to deliver the best possible client experience for Sitecore’s customers. They are very passionate and talented individuals who are committed to helping those around them."

Mark Gregor, Founder & CEO

Velir Senior Developer, Tim Braga, became a Sitecore certified developer in 2008. He has led development efforts on a number of large-scale web projects for Velir’s clients including the Advisory Board Company (www.advisory.com), the American College of Cardiology (www.acc.org), and Goodwin Procter (www.goodwinprocter.com). In addition to his client work, Braga has provided the Sitecore community with several shared source modules, numerous blog posts about innovative Sitecore development and he was a featured speaker at Sitecore’s 2012 Annual Conference. “One thing I’ve learned over the years working at Velir is that knowledge sharing is the key to success,” said Braga. “To have a team where one person holds all the keys isn’t a team at all. I believe that the Sitecore MVP award is a reflection of this philosophy and I consider it a privilege to share my knowledge and expertise with the entire Sitecore community.”

Dan Solovay is Senior Web Developer at Velir, and veteran Sitecore developer. Most recently he led key development initiatives for Velir’s Sitecore “Site of the Year” client website, on behalf of Elsevier Business Intelligence (www.elsevierbi.com). His work for Elsevier included the introduction of a new publishing model, automated e-alerts, and enhanced e-commerce functionality. Solovay regularly delivers developer presentations on ground-breaking topics. He has also authored many pivotal blog posts on challenging topics in the Sitecore community. “I’m honored, and more than a little humbled, to be joining this group of Sitecore MVPs,” said Solovay. “One of the things that sets Sitecore apart from other platforms is its developer community. I have learned so much from other Sitecore MVPs through user group meetings, blog posts, videos, at the Sitecore Symposium, or at developer meetings here at Velir.”

Braga and Solovay bring Velir’s total on-staff MVPs to five, which is among the most that any Sitecore partner has ever earned. Out of a field of over 8,000 developers, less than 1% receive the MVP award each year. Velir’s other Sitecore MVPs include Corey Caplette (2010), Gabe Boys (2010-11), and Daniel DeLay (2011). In addition to the industry recognition that comes with being honored as a Sitecore MVP, the program offers a number of additional benefits for recipients. These include access to alpha versions of Sitecore software, privileged resources on the Sitecore Developer Network, and special invitations to speak at and attend Sitecore events.
